In Jesus’s Name… Why?

In an overwhelming trial, if the standard for measure is emotion or feeling, the above question can be a cocktail of anger, bitterness, doubt, rage, despair, and fear. But feelings change from day to day, from hormonal level to the next, from circumstance to circumstance.

I would like to submit that during such any such occasion when a toxic cocktail of negative emotions arise in response to an overwhelming trial, the very antidote for it is… in Jesus’s name. Why?

Because the name of Jesus has supernatural power.

Philippians 2:9-11 (CJB)
9 Therefore God raised [Jesus/Yeshua] to the highest place
and gave him the name above every name;
10 that in honor of the name given Yeshua,
every knee will bow —
in heaven, on earth and under the earth —
11 and every tongue will acknowledge
that Yeshua the Messiah is Adonai —
to the glory of God the Father.

When He comes again and reveals who He is, every knee will bow to Jesus. Everyone in heaven, on earth, and under the earth will bow to Jesus even the cynics and critics, the verse tells us that everyone will acknowledge that Jesus, the Messiah, is God. Satan and all demons will bow to Jesus. All the spiritual attacks (in the form of illness, financial trouble, relationship problems, grave loss) sent our way with the intention of evil, God will use for good. No power can overcome the power of Jesus.

Genesis 50:20 (CJB) You meant to do me harm, but God meant it for good — so that it would come about as it is today, with many people’s lives being saved.

Even now, in Jesus’s name, all demons leave. Without having to yell or wield a crucifix frantically, you just have to say to the demon in a natural voice, “I command you to leave in Jesus’s name” and it will leave. Jesus’s name has the power (capability) and authority (right) to cast out demons and He has given that authority to those who believe in His name.

Luke 4:36 (CJB) They were all astounded and said to one another, “What kind of teaching is this? Why, he gives orders with power and authority to the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

Luke 10:19 (CJB) Remember, I have given you authority; so you can trample down snakes and scorpions, indeed, all the Enemy’s forces; and you will remain completely unharmed

In Jesus’s name, we will have eternal life. The trials that come our way during our earthly life will pass. They will end when our earthly life ends. But our souls will have eternal life, our real forever life.

John 20:31 (NIV) But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

In the name of Jesus, we have the forgiveness of our sins. Though the payment for our sins should be spiritual death (second death as described by Rev 3:20-21) /(Rom 6:23), the death and resurrection of Jesus has defeated this spiritual death.

In the name of Jesus, we receive the Holy Spirit, God’s Spirit dwelling in us to empower us, guide, lead, and transform us every minute of our lives

Acts 2:38 (NIV) Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

In Jesus’s name, the impossible is possible. Healing takes place.

Acts 3:6 (NIV) Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”…16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.(NIV)

In Jesus’s name, we can ask anything in accordance with the work and Word of Jesus Christ in oneness with God the Father for His glory in the Son and it will be done.

John 14:11 (NIV) Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Dear Jesus, I know that I am an undeserving sinner as I fall short of Your glory from day to day. I believe that You died on the cross and rose from the dead for the forgiveness of my sins. I confess You as my Savior and Lord. In Your name, I cast out the enemy who sows attacks on me, my family, our household, our possessions, our reputation. Out you go, Satan. You have no right over our family in Jesus’s name. Dear Jesus, in Your name I receive Your free gift (Eph 2:8-10) of eternal life; I receive the Holy Spirit. Thank You that You are in the business of transforming me to be less like myself and to be more like You.

2 Cor 3:18 NIV
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

In Your name, purify my heart from any and all wrong thoughts and attitudes. Cleanse me of all my sins. I know that what is impossible for man is now possible with You. According to Your will, work, and Word, You are going to do those things I ask for with purified intentions that You may be glorified. Thank You. I praise You already by faith in Jesus’s name amen.
