Yesterday, our small group had a one and a half hour physical exercise session. We decided that we would do it regularly as good stewardship of our bodies. I felt good even if at times during the exercise, I wanted to just fold up and lie down.
Today’s YouVersion Verse is
(NIV)
1 Tim 4:8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
(MSG)
1 Tim 4:8 Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever.
A great reminder and a great thought to ponder on. As much as it is a worthy cause to exert effort for physical fitness, there is an even greater cause to pursue– spiritual fitness; the first is useful for this life, the second is useful for this life and the next!
