Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your all-encompassing love that does not take pleasure in the death of those who do wrong but rather takes pleasure in people turning from wickedness towards life (Eze 33:11). Thank You for not wanting anyone to perish. Not me, not my loved ones. Thank You that You are not slow in keeping Your promise, You are a Promise Keeper (2Pet 3:8-10). As I wait on You (Psalm 27:14) to complete Your promise, help me to pass the SQ Marshmallow Test to look to You, fix my eyes on Jesus (Heb 12:2) in complete confidence (Heb 11:6) that You are in control (Psalm 68:20) and that in all things You work for the good of those who love You (Rom 8:28). Please help me and my loved ones daily turn from wickedness and choose life (Deut 30:19). Help us remember that when You return, everything will be laid bare. May we daily come clean and receive the new life You have for us in Jesus’s name amen.

Eze 33:11 Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’

2 Peter 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
